Howell Middle School North Band Important Information:
TRIP TO NYC, APRIL 22, 2015: All of the final arrangements have been made for our annual trip to NYC! Our breakfast, lunch at Dave and Busters, game cards, tickets to "Wicked", snacks, and meet and greet with the cast and crew are all ready to go!
TRILLS & THRILLS MUSIC FESTIVAL AT SIX FLAGS: Members of the HMSN Music Department will ride rented school buses to Southern New Jersey on Friday, May 22nd , 2015 to participate in the Thrills & Trills Music Festival. First, students will perform with their respective groups at the Toms River High School North Auditorium. After the performances, students will board the buses and travel to Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ to enjoy rides with their friends and chaperones. Students will have a lunch voucher to enjoy a meal and beverage at a location of their choosing in the park. After their time in the park, students will board the buses and return to school. Please see the attached trip form for more information about the day’s events.
Great Adventure Trip Forms, Medical Forms & Payment in FULL is due MONDAY, FEBRUARY 23rd, 2015. As usual, I will accept forms and payments up until FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2015. If the forms and payments are NOT in by 2/17/2015, you may NOT attend the trip. THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSIONS OR LATE FORMS ACCEPTED BEYOND THIS DATE. Trip forms can be downloaded and printed by clicking HERE. Medical forms are HERE. BOTH FORMS MUST BE RETURNED WITH PAYMENT.
In addition, absolutely NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR ANY REASON after this date. When planning a trip for a large organization of over 250 students, plus their parents/guardians, many payment deadlines must be abided by. It is a daunting task and, if problems arise, the school does NOT receive a refund from the organization. Therefore, we cannot return any funds paid if your child decides to quit, is removed from chorus or band for disciplinary or attendance reasons, OR for ANY other reason that may arise, OR if a chaperone decides they cannot attend. In most cases, by the time a child or parent decides not to attend, their portion of the trip has already been paid for in full. If you are not comfortable with this policy, it is best to sit this trip out.
How to practice sheet!!!!!!!
Does your child struggle with how to practice the correct way? Please click here to get a
copy of of the how to guide. This will help your child practice the correct way and will get the
results they want. Email me with any questions :)
Google Classroom/Garage Band
Band students will need to login to classroom google for band. This is a great way for me to hear your child's progress.
Each week there will be a new assignment that will be due the following Monday. Most of the time I will have your child record themsevles using Garage band, export it as an MP3 and then email the recording to me. I feel this is a great way to get your child to practice and improve on his or her playing. Here are the classroom codes for each grade level.
